Position Details

Operating Engineer 2

Effective immediately, Human Resource Management is accepting applications for an Operating Engineer 2 position for Facility Services.

W.S.: 211
Hourly Wage: $12.14

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience in the operation, repair and/or maintenance of large commercial or industrial stationary engines or mechanical equipment such as air conditioning, heating, refrigerating, pumping, generating, chillers or closely related systems.

SUBSTITUTIONS:
Full-time training in commercial air conditioning, refrigeration or diesel mechanics may be substituted for one year of the required experience on a month for month basis.

NOTE:
Incidental duties in operating or maintaining one's own heating, air conditioning or related equipment will not be considered as qualifying experience.

LSUA employs four different types of personnel on campus.

  • Faculty Members - Members of the academic staff holding rank of instructor or above and equivalent ranks. Faculty may be 9 month or 12 month employees and they may teach and/or do research.
  • Professional Employees - Administrative officers and professional staff that are generally exempt from the provisions of the State Civil Service System. This category is formerly referred to as Unclassified Employees.
  • Classified Employees - Employees in positions covered by the provisions of Louisiana State Civil Service System.
  • Other Academic Employees - Part-time members of the academic staff or full-time members of instructional or research staff below the rank of Instructor. Examples are part-time instructors, teaching or research associates, library associates, lecturers, etc.
