Director of Financial Aid

Louisiana State University at Alexandria is currently seeking to hire a Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships. This position will be responsible for all matters relating to student financial aid programs; provide leadership for policy development, strategic planning and scholarship programs and processes.

The Director manages all financial aid programs awarded through federal, state, and institutional resources. They are directly responsible for implementing financial aid policies, procedure and practices that support the university. In addition, the Director is responsible for the administration of all financial aid software systems used to manage financial aid programs.

Minimum qualifications are Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration or a related field; minimum 3 years of successful management experience; knowledge of Microsoft SQL is preferred, but not required; PowerFaids management and administration experience is recommended but not required.

LSUA employs four different types of personnel on campus.

  • Faculty Members - Members of the academic staff holding rank of instructor or above and equivalent ranks. Faculty may be 9 month or 12 month employees and they may teach and/or do research.
  • Professional Employees - Administrative officers and professional staff that are generally exempt from the provisions of the State Civil Service System. This category is formerly referred to as Unclassified Employees.
  • Classified Employees - Employees in positions covered by the provisions of Louisiana State Civil Service System.
  • Other Academic Employees - Part-time members of the academic staff or full-time members of instructional or research staff below the rank of Instructor. Examples are part-time instructors, teaching or research associates, library associates, lecturers, etc.
