Position Details


Louisiana State University at Alexandria is currently seeking to hire a University Registrar. This position will organize and administer the records, registration, and graduation functions; including transcript evaluations in order to provide maximum service to students while ensuring efficient and effective workflow. The Registrar will select, train, supervise, and evaluate the Records staff.

The Registrar will collect, record, maintain, and report student records within FERPA guidelines including grades, registration data, transcripts, mid-term verification, and associated audits.

This position will provide leadership and develop appropriate recommendations for the implementation of related technology application in support of enhanced services offered through Registration and Records.
Minimum qualifications are Master’s degree in student services, educational administration, or a related area. Three years of direct experience or five years in a related area of academic leadership, management, and supervision in a higher education institution required.

LSUA employs four different types of personnel on campus.

  • Faculty Members - Members of the academic staff holding rank of instructor or above and equivalent ranks. Faculty may be 9 month or 12 month employees and they may teach and/or do research.
  • Professional Employees - Administrative officers and professional staff that are generally exempt from the provisions of the State Civil Service System. This category is formerly referred to as Unclassified Employees.
  • Classified Employees - Employees in positions covered by the provisions of Louisiana State Civil Service System.
  • Other Academic Employees - Part-time members of the academic staff or full-time members of instructional or research staff below the rank of Instructor. Examples are part-time instructors, teaching or research associates, library associates, lecturers, etc.
